Job description: My main work consisted of conducting research in the Stem Cell facility. I contributed to a colleague's thesis project, and in doing so gained new experience with clean bench work, cell manufacturing, and flo cytometry. All of this was new for me but very relevant for the kind of work I see myself doing in the future. I was also involved in analyzing results, and ended the internship with a substantial presentation that provided new conclusions to the work so far. I also had the opportunity to shadow the doctors in the clinic weekly. I helped with menial tasks, although the shadowing component was mostly for my observation and learning.

Comment: I gained valuable research and clinical experience that makes me more qualified to work in the field in the future, and confirms my desire to pursue this work. I also made valuable connections with people in the field.

I made connections with many new people who have been great mentors to me, not only with things to do with the internship but also with my other work and future ambitions. I also made many new friends.
